This exquisite 1950s Jean Wurtz black silk dress is a rare piece of couture of exceptional quality and style. The luxurious thick silk overlay, delicate waistline and lavishly designed skirt makes this a striking example of the elegant New Look era. The bodice has a classic V neck and is fashioned in a flattering bolero wrap around style that gathers to the left. Soft pleating is skilfully positioned at the front of the generous skirt on either side of the hips, and over the buttock, creating beautiful movement in the fabric and perfectly accentuating the waist.
